Checks with Insufficient Funds CCF - Banco Central
Citizens who issue checks with insufficient funds that are returned twice by
the bank will be included into the Central Bank’s Issuers of Checks with
Insufficient Funds File (Cadastro de Emitentes de Checks with insufficient
funds – CCF); this file, in turn, is transferred to Serasa, who makes it
available to credit-granting companies and institutions.
Protested Notes
If, for any reason, a Citizen fails to settle a debt and the grantor of credit
should make a protest connected thereto before a Registry, this fact will be
communicated by the Registry to Serasa, who will store the information in its
Data Bank and make it available to credit-granting companies and institutions,
mostly through term sales.
Lawsuits – In- and Out-of-Court Execution, Assets
Seizure, Bankruptcy and Composition with Creditors
Citizens listed as defendants in a lawsuit concerning the execution of a debt,
the seizure of assets, or the bankruptcy of a company in which the citizen is a
stockholder, this information will be entered by the Court into Serasa’s Data
Bank, where it will be made available to credit-granting companies and
institutions.
Overdue Debt – Banking or Financial Pending
Matters
Citizens with banking or financial pending matters characterized by the
presence of an overdue debt, will, on having their data entered into Serasa’s
computers, be notified by mail, indicating \the creditor institutions or
company.
Federal Tax Execution Proceedings
Citizens who have pending matters with a federal agency as a result of the
failure to pay federal taxes, fees or levies will be entered into Serasa’s data
banks and their data will be made available to credit-granting companies and
institutions.
