This is Serasa

Serasa is a privately-owned company, executed as per the Corporations Law, dedicated to the activity of providing general interest services based on its credit information data bank, recognized by the Consumer Protection and Defense Code as a public interest entity (Law NO. 8,078, Article 43, 4).

Its operation covers all Brazilian States, collecting data on businesses and individuals directly from the interested parties, public registries, Financial Institutions, official journals and other appropriate sources, pursuing an activity enabled by the Brazilian Federal Constitution – Art. 5, item XXXII and Art. 170, sole paragraph.

The information stored on Serasa's computers is refreshed daily, responsibly and impartially. It is worth noting that the Data Bank’s maintenance processes are standardized according to the international ISO 9000 quality system and certified by Fundação Vanzolini, a globally acknowledged entity that periodically audits Serasa’s processes.

The information stored in Serasa’s Data Banks can be accessed by banks, markets, stores and businesses in general for support in business decision making.

In addition, Serasa maintains a Free Citizen Guidance Service at all of its Branches, collecting documents and providing guidance on how to correct pending credit matters, thereby assuring compliance with the contents of the Consumer Defense Code, Law No. 8,078, Art. 43, ´ 3, and Law 9,507, Arts. 4 e 7, item III, which regulate the right to gain access to information and contain provisions on habeas data.
