Technology Cooperation Partnerships
Serasa maintains partnerships with renowned learning
institutions in Brazil to promote the generation of innovative knowledge in
strategic areas and support education and development. To this end, each
partnership has a certain study and research focus, according to the learning
institution's areas of excellence.
FGV-EASP
Focus: Management and Finance
The partnership with the São PauloBusinessSchool
(EAESP-FGV) aims to make an ongoing contribution to improvement and innovation
in the Brazilian banking industry. By means of the
SerasaBankingExcellenceCenter (CEB-Serasa) the partnership carries out research
in order to produce and disseminate studies and concepts capable of improving
or extending knowledge of Administration in general and Bank Management in
particular.
An example of the results achieved is the book
Inadimplência ("Default"), by Nelson Lerner Barth, the product
of his Master's thesis, which won a scholarship grant from Serasa.
ESPM
Focus: Marketing
The partnership between Serasa and the Higher Education
School of Advertising and Marketing (ESPM) aims to support studies and
initiatives to generate strategic Marketing knowledge. In this sense, it led to
the establishment, in 2004, of the Serasa Learning Environment, based on
the concept that students should build their own knowledge by means of theory
investigation and interaction with professors and fellow students. The Serasa
Leaning Environment offers, in addition to appropriate learning resources, the
Serasa Universities online system, which makes available corporate financial
statements and a module of accounting concepts exercises to help consolidate
the finance and accounting knowledge gained.
Fundação Dom Cabral
Focus: Innovation
The mission of this partnership between Serasa and
Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC) is to promote the development of knowledge on
“Services Innovation” by means of the SerasaFDCInnovationCenter, established in
2004.
The "Services Innovation" survey
has been done since April that year, a pioneering study
in field of knowledge that has had so little research in Brazil. The
center also promotes seminars to share the researched concepts and the partial
results obtained, as well as to provide publications to disseminate the studies
and conclusions that may be of practical use to firms in general.
FIA-USP
Begun in 2004, the partnership with the Administration Institute Foundation of
the University of São Paulo (FIA-USP) aims to enable Ser Serasa in Project
Management and, at the same time, align the process Serasa adopted in 1997 with
best practices published by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
PUC-SP
Focus: Legal Area
The purpose of the partnership with the Pontifical
Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) is to foster Legal knowledge.
The Serasa Studies Center at the PUC-SPLawSchool offers scholarship grants to
undergraduate students and master's and doctor's candidates and compensates
professors by means of research projects development.
The agreement also aims at the exchange of knowledge
between the partners and mutual support in Third Sector-related projects, which
include Serasa's financial support to the Dom Paulo Evaristo Arns Model through
which PUC-SP Law Students practice law by assisting underprivileged citizens.
The partnership further includes Serasa's support to specific Legal-Social
projects of the Model Firm.
SouthamptonUniversity
The Serasa—SouthamptonUniversity partnership is intended
to develop a new consumer credit risk modeling methodology based on structural
models, traditionally used for corporate credit applications. This approach to
modeling is the basis for the Basel II required capital formulas. The research
project is being conducted by professor Lyn Thomas, one of the world's leading
specialists in credit scoring and a reference for consumer credit risk
